The 5 Things Moms Really Want For Mother’s day

I’ve always said “you don’t need to spend money to make me happy,” especially on Mother’s Day. It’s not about material things at all. My twins are now teenagers, and I should also mention that I have 2 older daughters as well.

Below are 5 of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts that I’ve received as a mother of twins:

Homemade Mother’s Day Cards

I love reading the cards and seeing the artwork, and I can guarantee you I saved every one of them. I absolutely loved getting Mother’s Day gifts that the girls made when they were in elementary school too; they always made me cry.

Planting Flowers Together

We have a tradition of planting flowers every Mother’s Day. Honestly, I don’t even remember how this got started, but every Mother’s Day my girls know we are planting flowers. I think they look forward to it as much as I do. I am hoping that this becomes a tradition for them as they get older as well.

Spending Time Together

I know quite a few mom’s that get away on that special day, and do their own thing, which seems great, but I want to be with my kids and my mom. There are plenty of other days in the year where I can do my own thing. Did I just say that? When the girls were younger that was not always true, but now that they are older I can steal some time for myself here and there.

No Arguing

The one thing I ask for every Mother’s Day is no arguing. I don’t believe that I have ever received this gift, the 100% completely free, beautiful gift of getting along. The girls do argue less on Mother’s Day, but they have to be reminded a few times first.

No Cooking or Cleaning

On Mother’s Day I make it a rule that I don’t cook, and I don’t clean. This is the one day that I truly have off from these daily duties.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I will never deny the gift of being pampered, and if I am ever surprised with a spa day I would surely LOVE that, especially if my girls are coming along with me!

I hope your Mother’s Day is twintastic and truly special. Try to enjoy every moment. Happy Mother’s Day!

My Twins Are Cuter has been my dream, and is now a reality. I'm a proud mother of four girls, two of which are my very creative and fun-loving twins, Olivia and Sophia. The twinsipration for the brand came about in 2012, when on a beach vacation, we took notice of an unordinary amount of twins, and two years later we launched our brand. We have some pretty big ideas on the horizon and we hope you will follow our brand and our blog on our journey.

Great list! Those are some things I never would have thought of, including and especially, no arguing on Mother’s Day.
    Thanks for sharing!
